On Oct, 21-22 a festival of hunter birds was held in Astana by local eagle breeder Arman Kuntuwar. Hunter bird owners came from all regions of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia, among them prize winners at recent World Nomadic Games held in Kyrgyzstan.
Birds contested at hunting hares and the last hunt – for a fox – was out of competition, just a demonstration.
Birds were splitted in different categories, depending on their specie: eagles, hawks, falcons and other.
